Privacy Policy

This is Check It Now. You snap a photo, I tell you three things about it. Here's exactly what happens to your data — in plain language.

What I collect

When you use Check It Now, I handle the following:

• Photos you scan. Sent to Anthropic (our AI provider) to generate the three answers. Not stored on our servers after the response is returned.
• Your display name and language preference. Stored only on your device, used to personalize the app.
• Invite code (during pilot phase). Used to gate access to the API and group your scans for analytics.
• Optional location if you grant the permission. Used only to add a place tag to your "Good to Know" cards. Never shared with third parties.
• Scan history. Your last 10 scans are cached locally on your device only. Never uploaded to our servers.
• Feedback ratings. When you tap 👍 or 👎 plus a reason chip, we record the rating, reason, language, and a scan identifier. No photos, no answers, no PII.
• Voluntary debug submissions. If you tap "Send these to me — I'll learn" after a rating, your device's email app opens with the share-card PDF and image attached. You decide whether to send. Submissions go to feedback@tatipanya.com from your own email account.

What I don't collect

• I never store your photos on our servers after analysis. They live only on your device.
• I never sell your data. To anyone. Ever.
• I don't track you across other apps or websites.
• I don't use your photos to train AI models.

Third parties involved

To generate the three answers about your photo, I send the image to a third-party AI service. The AI does not retain your images for training. Aside from that, I use standard hosting and analytics infrastructure to keep the app running. None of these providers receive your photos.

How long I keep things

• Photos: deleted from our processing pipeline immediately after the response. Your local copy stays on your device until you delete the app or clear its data.
• Feedback submissions sent to our inbox: 90 days, then deleted.
• Anonymous analytics events: 12 months, then aggregated and deleted.
• Daily scan counter: auto-expires after 48 hours.

Your rights

Wherever you live, you have the right to:

• Access what I have on you.
• Delete it.
• Correct it.
• Take it with you (data portability).
• Object to processing.
• Opt out of any "sale" of your personal information. (I don't sell it. Ever.)
• Complain to your data protection authority, if your jurisdiction has one.

To exercise any of these, email support@tatipanya.com. I respond within 30 days.

EU residents — these rights are codified in the GDPR. US residents — California (CCPA/CPRA), Virginia (VCDPA), Colorado (CPA), Connecticut (CTDPA), and Utah (UCPA) grant similar state-level rights. Same email, same response window.

Children

Check It Now is intended for users 13 and older. I do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has used the app, contact support@tatipanya.com and I'll delete the related data.

Changes to this policy

If I change anything material, I'll update the date at the top and notify active users in-app. The previous versions stay accessible via the change log on this page (linked here once one exists).
